Denise has been involved in aquaculture for about 20 years. She has been educating people about marine conservation and aquaculture since 2012 and continues to do so to this day. She has worked all over the world with a large range of different species, including sea weed, micro algae, lobsters, shrimp, clownfish, salmon, mussels, crayfish, kingfish, amberjacks, grouper and many more. She has worked in RAS, in large flow through systems and offshore aquaculture. Denise is passionate about the environment and about aquaculture.

As Team Leader for Open Ocean Aquaculture at Cawthron Institute, Dr. Kevin Heasman is a driving force behind New Zealand’s cutting-edge offshore shellfish and seaweed farming initiatives. From pioneering the innovative Shellfish Tower structures in high-energy ocean environments to leading breakthroughs in scallop and scampi farming, Kevin combines deep scientific insight with hands-on innovation to bring sustainable marine farming into the future.
