Denise has been involved in aquaculture for about 20 years. She has been educating people about marine conservation and aquaculture since 2012 and continues to do so to this day. She has worked all over the world with a large range of different species, including sea weed, micro algae, lobsters, shrimp, clownfish, salmon, mussels, crayfish, kingfish, amberjacks, grouper and many more. She has worked in RAS, in large flow through systems and offshore aquaculture. Denise is passionate about the environment and about aquaculture.

Mark Burnaby brings more than 15 years of practical aquaculture experience, overseeing marine farming operations for MacLab in the Marlborough Sounds, Tasman Bay and Golden Bay. As Aquaculture Manager, he combines hands-on operational knowledge with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and industry leadership. Mark provides practical insights into how everyday biosecurity practices protect farms, stock and the wider aquaculture industry

Dr Anjali Pande

Senior Adviser – Biosecurity New Zealand (MPI)
Anjali has a PhD in Marine Ecology and has worked in the field of marine biosecurity for around 18 years. She is also an adventurer who loves being in the field, and because of this, is passionate about finding ways for good science to be applied in real life. Working with Biosecurity New Zealand, Anjali brings this practical, science-based perspective to the course, helping explain how everyday preventative actions can play an important role in protecting New Zealand’s aquaculture industry from exotic pests and diseases.

You will be awarded a certificate once you have passed the required sections of the course. This certificate does not contribute to any formal qualification - YET. Watch this space.  

"Will I be able to access this course after I have completed it?"

Yes, after purchasing a course you will have unlimited access for a period of 2 years.

"Will I be able to re-take the quizzes?" 

Your first try should be your best try. If you do not pass the first attempt you will get an opportunity for 1 retake where you will be able to get a maximum of 50%. You can re take the quizzes indefinitely after that however your best score from your first 2 attempts will be what counts.
